Testament came out swinging on Titans of Creation. Chuck Billy, Eric Peterson and Alex Skolnick are joined by Steve Di Giorgio on bass and Gene Hoglan behind the kit, and that rhythm section alone makes this a frightening machine.
“Children Of The Next Level” and “WWIII” open the record with real aggression, and Skolnick’s leads sing over the top of it all. “Night Of The Witch” is the curveball, darker and nastier than anything around it. Andy Sneap’s mix keeps everything heavy and clear.
At twelve tracks it sags a little in the middle, but “City Of Angels” and “Curse Of Osiris” are among the best things here. They still sound hungry.
Best tracks:
Children Of The Next Level
WWIII
Night Of The Witch
