May the Bridges We Burn Light the Way is Omnium Gatherum’s tenth album. Guitarist Markus Vanhala co-produced it with Soilwork’s Björn “Speed” Strid, who recorded the vocals in Sweden, and Jens Bogren, who mixed. Four singles came first: “The Last Hero”, “My Pain”, “Walking Ghost Phase” and “The Darkest City”. The band bills its sound as adult-oriented death metal, meaning melodic death metal with big hooks, searing solos and prominent keyboards. Nine songs in 40 minutes, and 8.5/10 from Blabbermouth.
