Hi, I’m Erki Laurits, and metal is my life.

It all started in the 90s. I was a teenager when metal found me, and from the very first riff I knew this was more than music. It was a feeling, an identity, a place where I belonged. I became a metalhead back then, and I still am today. I wear that proudly, and I always will.

A dream that took ten years

For as long as I can remember, I wanted to build something for people like us: a place where metal fans could find each other, share the music they love and feel at home. Not just another page or forum, but a real social network made by a metalhead, for metalheads.

It took me ten years to make that dream real. Now it’s finally here. WeMetalheads exists for one reason: to bring together everyone who loves metal music, wherever they are and whatever subgenre runs through their veins.

The road here wasn’t easy

I won’t pretend it was simple. This has been a hard journey, with long nights, setbacks and more work than I ever imagined. I’ve built all of it alone and paid for it out of my own pocket. There were no investors, no team and no shortcuts. It was just me, my belief in this idea, and a lot of loud music playing in the background.

Why I do this

Because metal has always been there for me.

When I was a teenager and life got heavy, metal gave me strength. Years later, in my hardest moments as an adult, it still did the same. It has never let me down. This music has carried me through more than I could ever put into words, and WeMetalheads is my way of giving something back to the community that gave me so much.

Passing the torch

Today I share this love with someone very special: my six-year-old son. He loves metal too, and his favourites are Judas Priest and Tiamat. Watching him light up when the music starts is one of the proudest feelings I know. It reminds me that metal isn’t just something from the past. It lives on and passes from one generation to the next.

Let’s build this together

WeMetalheads was built by one person, but it can only grow with all of us. I’m inviting you to join, connect, share your favourite bands and help make this community even bigger and stronger.

Every bit of support means the world to me, whether you join, post, invite a friend or back the project in any way you can.

Help WeMetalheads grow. Support us. Join us.
