Ten years! Ten years since For All Kings, the longest wait of Anthrax’s career, and the New York crew are back with the same lineup: Belladonna, Ian, Benante, Bello and Donais, with Jay Ruston producing again and part of it tracked at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606. The Latin title means roughly “my journey is complete”, but the band swear this isn’t the end. Good, because it rips.
“It’s For The Kids” is a straight-up thrash love letter to the fans, “Everybody’s Got a Plan” opens with a Mike Tyson quote and punches just as hard, and “NYC 93” is a nod to the John Bush era. A couple of the six-minute epics drag, but when the riffs fly, this is classic Anthrax. Mosh!
