Album number seventeen, the first for Napalm Records, and once again produced and mixed by Andy Sneap. You know the drill by now: Wolf Hoffmann’s riffs, Mark Tornillo’s sandpaper wail, gang choruses, classical flourishes in the solos. Humanoid doesn’t change the formula, it just tightens it.

“Diving into Sin” and the title track open with real purpose, and “The Reckoning” is the best mid-tempo crusher they’ve written since Blind Rage. “Frankenstein” carries a nice dose of Hoffmann melody. The second half sags slightly with “Straight Up Jack” and “Mind Games”, but nothing is weak enough to skip. Solid, professional, very German heavy metal.
