Seven years of silence, then this: a sonic assault from the Wiesbaden thrashers who gave us Possessed by Fire back in 1986. Mem V. Stein promised they’d be more aggressive and more in-your-face than on Hostile Defiance, and he wasn’t kidding. Eleven tracks, produced by Dominic Paraskevopoulos and mixed by Arthur Rizk, with a new rhythm section of Jerome Reil and Alex Voss pounding away underneath. Lyrically it’s all false prophets and power-hungry charlatans, with the title track built around David Koresh and the Waco siege.
Nothing new, nothing clever, just razor riffs and pure Teutonic fury. A few songs blur together, but who cares? Neck brace recommended.
