No reinvention, no apologies. Under Attack is Teutonic thrash served exactly the way Schmier and Mike Sifringer like it: fast, sharp-edged and a little bit rude. The title track sets the tone with a whirlwind riff and a chorus you can shout on the first listen, and “Generation Nevermore” keeps the pace savage.
The surprise is how much variety they squeeze in without losing the edge. “Dethroned” has a nice, grinding groove, “Pathogenic” is all twitchy speed, and “Elegant Pigs” sneers its way through one of the catchiest hooks on the record. Vaaver’s drumming is relentless and precise. A couple of songs near the end blur together, but “Stigmatized” closes things with enough bite to send you straight back to the start.
