Lovebites

Lovebites were formed in Tokyo in 2016 by bassist Miho and drummer Haruna, both formerly of the metal band Destrose. They were joined by guitarist Midori, guitarist and keyboardist Miyako (initially a support member who later became a full member) and vocalist Asami. The band took its name from the Halestorm song “Love Bites (So Do I)”, which they had played at a rehearsal, and played its first official concert on 18 November 2016 at Tsutaya O-West in Tokyo.

Signed to Victor Entertainment, the band released The Lovebites EP on 24 May 2017, followed by the debut album Awakening from Abyss on 25 October 2017. Clockwork Immortality followed on 5 December 2018, the year Lovebites were named Best New Band at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods awards; the band has also played European festivals including Wacken Open Air and Bloodstock. The third album, Electric Pentagram, arrived on 29 January 2020.

Founding bassist Miho’s departure was announced on 17 August 2021, and the band paused its activities. Bassist Fami joined in 2022, and the fourth album Judgement Day (22 February 2023) became the band’s highest-charting record in Japan. Lovebites EP II followed on 28 August 2024.

The fifth album Outstanding Power was released in Japan by Victor Entertainment on 18 February 2026. On the same day the band announced a worldwide deal (excluding Asia) with Napalm Records, which issued the album digitally and released it physically on 8 May 2026. Lovebites played their first Nippon Budokan concert on 29 March 2026.
