Fabienne Erni became the frontwoman of Swiss folk metal band Eluveitie in 2017, and she also learned the Celtic harp for the role. In 2019 she co-founded the modern metal band Illumishade with Eluveitie bandmate Jonas Wolf, a project that began as her master’s degree work. Illumishade released Eclyptic: Wake of Shadows in 2020 and Another Side of You in 2024.
Erni started her solo career in late August 2025 with the single “Sky’s Breath” and its music video. She said the melody had been with her for years, and the song was the first in a run of singles leading up to a full album.
Her debut solo album, Starveil, came out on 13 March 2026. Infected Rain’s Vadim “Vidick” Ojog worked on it as musical director, and Infected Rain singer Lena Scissorhands guests on the track “Ritual”. The record mixes modern metal with folk instruments and includes passages sung in an invented fantasy language.
Current line-up: Fabienne Erni (vocals).
