In This Moment began after singer Maria Brink and guitarist Chris Howorth met at an audition in 2004. With drummer Jeff Fabb they first played as Dying Star, then settled on the name In This Moment and formed the band in Los Angeles in 2005. Their debut, Beautiful Tragedy, came out on Century Media in March 2007.
The Dream (2008) and A Star-Crossed Wasteland (2010) pushed them up the charts, and Blood (2012) became their breakthrough, going gold in the US and reaching No. 15 on the Billboard 200. A move to Atlantic followed, and Black Widow (2014) became their highest-charting album at No. 8.
The line-up settled during these years: bassist Travis Johnson joined in 2010, guitarist Randy Weitzel arrived in 2011, and drummer Kent Diimmel replaced Tom Hane in 2016. Ritual (2017) and Mother (2020) followed on Roadrunner and Atlantic, and Godmode arrived in October 2023.
Their ninth studio album, Witch, was released on 28 August 2026 through Better Noise Music. Produced with Kane Churko, it features guest spots from Kim Dracula, Dayseeker and Kat Von D, the last on a cover of Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Wall”.
Current line-up: Maria Brink (vocals), Chris Howorth (guitar), Randy Weitzel (guitar), Travis Johnson (bass), Kent Diimmel (drums).
