Every Time I Die were formed in Buffalo, New York, in 1998 by guitarists Jordan Buckley and Andy Williams and drummer Michael Novak, with Jordan’s brother Keith Buckley on vocals.

The debut album Last Night in Town came out in 2001, followed by Hot Damn! (2003), Gutter Phenomenon (2005), The Big Dirty (2007) and New Junk Aesthetic (2009).

The sixth album, Ex Lives, was released by Epitaph Records on 6 March 2012. Produced by Joe Barresi, it entered the Billboard 200 at No. 20.

From Parts Unknown followed in 2014, Low Teens in 2016 and Radical in 2021. In January 2022 Jordan Buckley, Andy Williams, bassist Stephen Micciche and drummer Clayton “Goose” Holyoak announced in a joint statement, without Keith Buckley, that the band was over.

Jordan Buckley, Micciche and Holyoak went on to form Better Lovers in 2023, while Keith Buckley started Many Eyes. Andy Williams, who had played on all nine studio albums, died in September 2026 at the age of 48.
