Frozen Soul

Frozen Soul were formed in Fort Worth, Texas, in 2018. Singer Chad Green and guitarist Michael Munday built the band around old-school death metal in the vein of Obituary and Bolt Thrower, with a wintry, frozen image to match.

The Encased in Ice EP came out in 2019 and caught the attention of Century Media, who released the debut album Crypt of Ice in January 2021. Its slow, grinding riffs and no-frills approach quickly made the band one of the most talked-about new names in American death metal.

Glacial Domination, produced by Trivium’s Matt Heafy, followed on 19 May 2023. Critics praised its mix of traditional death metal and hardcore heaviness, and guests included John Gallagher of Dying Fetus and the synthwave artist GosT.

Their third album, No Place of Warmth, came out on Century Media on 8 May 2026.

Current line-up: Chad Green (vocals), Chris Bonner (lead guitar), Michael Munday (rhythm guitar), Samantha Mobley (bass), Matt Dennard (drums).
