Tremonti began in 2011 in Orlando, Florida, as a solo project of Mark Tremonti, best known as lead guitarist of Creed and Alter Bridge, and grew into a full band with Tremonti on lead vocals and guitar. Its sound combines heavy, fast riffing and thrash metal influence with melodic vocals.

The debut album All I Was appeared in July 2012. Guitarist Eric Friedman and drummer Garrett Whitlock played alongside Tremonti, while Brian Marshall handled bass on the first tours before Wolfgang Van Halen replaced him in September 2012.

Cauterize (2015) and Dust (2016) followed, and A Dying Machine arrived in June 2018. Whitlock left the band in 2018 and Ryan Bennett became the permanent drummer. Marching in Time came out in September 2021. Over the years the band has released records through FRET12 Records and Napalm Records.

The sixth album, The End Will Show Us How, was produced by Michael “Elvis” Baskette, with Friedman playing bass. It reached number 2 on the UK Rock & Metal Albums chart, number 9 in Austria and Switzerland and number 21 in Germany, and was released through Napalm Records on 10 January 2025.

Current line-up: Mark Tremonti (lead vocals, guitar), Eric Friedman (rhythm guitar), Tanner Keegan (bass), Ryan Bennett (drums)
